you can determine your necklace size in different ways :

 

1 } pick a necklace that fits perfectly, place it, with the lock closed in the middle, on a flat service, make a straight line with it, measure its length from one edge to the other, multiply it by two : this necklace would be sized 23 cm x 2 = 46 cm.

tips }

} images depicting standard sized necklaces on a body can be very helpful as an indication, but everybody has a different body, so measuring yourself is usually more accurate. 

2 } take a meter of non stretchy, flexible string, place it loosely around the back of your neck, let the two ends meet at the front on the height you prefer : neck, chest, breast, midriff, belly button ... pull softly, make a knot to mark the spot : now measure the length as described in 1}.
